Member policy committees are charged with developing Oregon Business & Industry’s (OBI) public policy recommendations. Policy committees are made up of members interested in establishing a consensus on issues of direct concern to their businesses. The committees also keep members up-to-date on legislative, regulatory, and other business issues, as well as provide a forum to network with other business leaders.
Member company employees can serve on or attend any committee. At times there are complex issues requiring a greater concentration of efforts through special task forces or subcommittees. Members also can subscribe to e-mail updates to keep on top of important issues and developments. OBI encourages participation in the issues of greatest concern or impact to each member.
Each policy committee is chaired by an OBI member and staffed by the OBI policy manager responsible for that subject matter. They provide a direct link between the committee members and the government activity at hand.

This is the policy playbook that guided Associated Oregon Industries (AOI) and Oregon Business Association (OBA) as they worked together to represent the Oregon business community in the 2017 Legislative Session. It will form the foundation for further policy development as the organization moves forward as OBI.
