North Highland Starts Gathering Information for Strategic Plan

Published Thursday, August 24, 2017

Oregon Business & Industry (OBI) has engaged the North Highland consulting group to lead a member-driven strategic planning process. Developing this plan is an important part of building our merged association into a unified voice for business that strives to strengthen Oregon's economy to achieve a healthy, prosperous and competitive Oregon for the benefit of present and future generations.

North Highland, the same consulting firm that helped with the merger, will guide us in developing a plan to help OBI fulfill this mission. We have worked with them to plan an inclusive information-gathering process so that the strategic plan can be built on the strength of OBI - its members.

North Highland consultants will offer an opportunity for all OBI members to provide feedback in the strategic planning process through surveys, interviews and focus groups in an effort to gain a diverse perspective from a diverse statewide organization. After the data is gathered, North Highland will develop a draft strategic plan and refine the plan with the OBI Board at a fall retreat. North Highland plans to begin interviews and develop a member survey soon. If you would like more information, please email Vice President of Development & Special Programs D.J. Vogt.

Ultimately, this effort will help us achieve the goal of creating a unified OBI that can represent Oregon businesses, shape policy, influence decision-makers and help lead Oregon to a more prosperous future. Our association also can help member businesses stay abreast of and respond to regulatory changes that affect them. Through membership services such as CompSafe and HealthChoice, we offer members an opportunity to lower costs. The strategic plan will help OBI maintain these strengths while charting a course for future success.
