Time Running Out to Buy Statesman Dinner Tickets
The 2017 Statesman Dinner offers Oregon Business & Industry to showcase our commitment to a united business community that collaborates with others to create a healthy, prosperous and competitive Oregon. If you haven't made plans to attend the event October 10 at the Oregon Convention Center, click here for more information on tables, tickets and to register.
This year's dinner, the first since our merger, will offer a timely lens into issues affecting our state.
The highlight of the evening will be presenting the Statesman of the Year Award to Paul Stewart, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls. Stewart has been deeply involved in projects that have brought together, business, government, faith-based groups and other nonprofit community organizations to help those in need.
The keynote speaker for the Statesman Dinner is another ground-breaking business leader. Susan O'Malley broke through the glass ceiling to become the first female president of a major U.S. professional sports franchise. After becoming president of Washington's NBA franchise, she went on to become president of Washington Sports Entertainment. In that role, she also oversaw the city's NHL team and Verizon Center. Her appearance comes at a time when professional sports franchises are facing difficult marketing and public relations decisions related to protests and political statements.
We also will have a special guest, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, who has tackled issues in Rhode Island similar to the ones we face in Oregon.
