Oregon Occupational Safety & Health Division (Oregon OSHA)

Published Wednesday, October 31, 2018

Oregon OSHA is proposing many changes to the Division 1 rules. The most substantive changes are to OAR 437-001-0096 regarding Red Warning Notices and the penalty for removing such notices. The penalty for an employer who uses or directs an employee to use a piece of equipment with a red tag notice on it, may be subject to a penalty of up $126,749 (from $70,000). Most other changes are technical corrections. The notice and summary are fairly comprehensive and capture the changes the division is proposing.
