Oregon Business & Industry is welcoming a new vice president, membership development and strategic partnerships. Nancy Marquay begins in the new position at OBI in November.

“I am excited to join a team of experienced professionals in supporting and advocating for the business community,” Marquay said.

“She will be a great addition to our team,” said Sandra McDonough, president and CEO of OBI. “Her unique experience in the business community brings a wealth of knowledge to better serve our members.”

In her new role, Marquay will lead the way in assisting OBI members. She will work to engage members statewide, reach out to the business community across Oregon and develop relationships with OBI partners.

“I look forward to the opportunity to partner with businesses around the state of Oregon and provide resources to allow businesses to grow and prosper,” she said.

Marquay joins OBI with an extensive background in media, advertising and marketing, including new business development and sales management. She has worked with all types of businesses from locally owned to national retailers.

Most recently she served as senior director of strategic partnerships at the Portland Business Alliance. Marquay managed the membership and event teams and managed the customer relations coordinator to grow and maximize member experience and engagement.

Marquay’s background in business goes even further, all the way to her childhood. Her family moved to Oregon in the early 1970s and owned a 7-Eleven in Aloha. They later bought and ran a grocery store in central Oregon. Growing up in an entrepreneurial family taught her the value of hard work and gave Marquay familiarity and compassion for the business community.

“My experience, including running a family business and working with businesses of all sizes and from all industries, helps me seek out resources that offer support where it matters most,” she said.

When she is not at work, Marquay enjoys spending time with family, cooking and baking, going on Harley rides with her husband and playing with her two Labrador retrievers.
