After Gov. Brown mandated most restaurants, bars and other eating establishments to close except for delivery and takeout, many businesses have shut their doors and laid off employees. OBI and others emphasized the need for streamlining unemployment insurance at the state and national level during Wednesday’s joint committee meeting.

An Oregonian article noted that while some businesses are closing during the COVID-19 pandemic, others are hiring. Amazon, Fred Meyer and Safeway-Albertsons are looking for workers to keep up with demand.
